Support

Troubleshooting is a systematic approach to locating the cause of a fault in a system. A good preventive maintenance program helps minimize failures.

In general, troubleshooting is the identification or diagnosis of “trouble” in the management flow of a system caused by a failure of some kind. The problem is initially described as symptoms of malfunction, and troubleshooting is the process of determining and remedying the causes of these symptoms. The basic theory of troubleshooting is that you start with the most general (and often most obvious) possible problems, and then narrow it down to more specific issues.

What is maintenance in troubleshooting?
Maintenance troubleshooting is the process of identifying what is wrong with these faulty components and systems when the problem is not immediately obvious. Maintenance troubleshooting usually follows a systematic, four-step approach; identify the problem, plan a response, test the solution, and resolve the problem.
